Back to School, Back to You: Skills for Parenting & Play

Dear Reader,

How are you?

Life as a single mom is a balancing act. Some days are all about caring for your kids, other days you need time just for you. This month, I’ve found two opportunities that will help you grow in both areas:

1. For Your Parenting Game: The Science of Parenting (MasterClass)

Parenting today is more challenging and more confusing than ever. Between toddler tantrums and teenage independence, it’s easy to feel stretched thin.

That’s why I’m excited about The Science of Parenting, a new MasterClass led by top experts who share research-backed, actionable solutions to help you:

  • Calm chaos and handle meltdowns effectively
  • Foster independence while staying connected
  • Reduce stress for the whole family
  • Create a foundation for long-term success

Special Offer: Get The Science of Parenting plus access to all MasterClass courses for as low as $10/month, billed annually.

  • $120/year (1 device)

2. For Your Personal Game: Pickleball Strategy Clinic

Sometimes the best self-care is doing something active and fun and maybe even getting a little competitive.

On Thursday, August 28 at 3PM PT / 6PM ET, Coach Tony is hosting a Pickleball Strategy Clinic laser-focused on shot selection. If you want to play at a 3.5+ level (or coach players who do), you’ll learn:
- The foundational shots every advancing player needs
- Optional shots — and when they’re worth it
- “Trap” shots that waste time and energy

This isn’t a YouTube tutorial. It’s real game footage + expert breakdowns to help you see the court like a high-level player.

Save your seat here. This is a paid session but it’s 100% worth it.

💬 My Thought:
Take what you learn in The Science of Parenting to make family life calmer and more connected. Then, bring that focus and confidence onto the pickleball court for you time.

Remember you're not alone!

Dear Reader, How are you? What would you do if you weren’t afraid? This is the title of a book by Michal Oshman. I want to share a quote from her book: ”Accepting the fact that you can’t fully control your life - relationships, career, health, ageing - is one of the greatest ways to manage fear”. Life is full of opportunities to be afraid, and as the New Year approaches, ask yourself: Are you fearful of what it brings? Or are you anticipating, hoping with all hope that you can quickly and...

Dear Reader, How are you? I have a strange habit: I love watching my children sleep. They look so peaceful, don’t they? Watching my boys, I’ve often wondered what they’re dreaming about. But have you ever stopped to consider why they can just drift off without a care in the world even after making a fuss about wanting to stay up? It’s because they are comfortable with you. They rest in the quiet certainty that you are there, and you will be there when they wake up. You too can have that same...

Dear Reader, How are you? Sunday mornings can be complicated. For some, it’s a rush to get the kids ready. Alone. For others, it’s sitting in a church service, looking around at families sitting together, and feeling a deep, quiet ache. You can be surrounded by people and still feel completely invisible. I want you to know that I understand that feeling. I’ve sat in those pews. I’ve felt like I was shouting into a void where no one could hear me. But there is a woman in the Bible who knew...
